Obituary for Bernard Simpson
St. Albans – Bernard Simpson, 82, a resident of this area for the past 18 years, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 26, 2010, at the Franklin County Rehab Center with his loving family at his side. He was born in Colchester, Vermont, September 17, 1927, the son of the late Frank and Mildred (Osha) Simpson. Bernard was an Operational Analyst for Northeast Utility Co. in Massachusetts where he was employed for 35 years. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. He enjoyed trains, fishing , boating and other outdoor activities. Bernard leaves his wife of 59 years, Bernadette (LaBarge) Simpson of St. Albans, a daughter, Katherine Hunter of St. Albans, a sister-in-law, Shirley Perry of Williston, two grandchildren, Wendy Brouillette and Michael Hunter and a great-granddaughter, Katherine Siano and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans. The Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois, Deacon of Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Albans will officiate. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Underhill, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Rehab Center, 110 Fairfax Road, St. Albans, VT 05478. Assisting Bernard’s family is the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
