Obituary for Andrew Julius Jordan

St. Albans – Andrew Julius Jordan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday July 19, 2013, next to his beloved wife, Betty. Born March 29th, 1932, his youthful spirit has filled the lives of his siblings, children and grandchildren. In his youth, he was known as an avid hunter and fisherman. He particularly enjoyed Georgia Mountain. “Andy” served his country in the U.S. Army and was a hardworking man who provided for his family with his excavation company. He worked with the Local 98 Union in the installation of the interstate system throughout New England. Throughout his life he was known for his strong will and charm. He loved to be with his family and enjoyed good conversation. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and harvesting his produce. He enjoyed raising livestock. Generous, strong willed and young at heart are good ways to describe Andy, our father, grandpa, brother, uncle and husband. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, and their children and their families; Michael & Cindy Jordan, Debbie & Clovis Arel, David & Diane Jordan, Dennis & Doris Jordan, Sue-Ann Johnson and Kevin Jordan & Darlene Martell. He also leaves his three sisters, Theresa Zuzak, Ann Mostachetti and Judy Creller as well as 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Andy is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Over the last several months Andy felt blessed to have the kind compassion of the Holiday House, NMC dialysis Department nurses and Franklin County Home Health Agency. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013, at 12:30 PM at the family lot in St. George’s Cemetery in Bakersfield. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
