Obituary for Bartholomew "Bart" Chamberlain

St. Albans – Bartholomew “Bart” Chamberlain, a longtime area resident passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Franklin County Rehab Center with his loving family at his side. Born in Burlington on April 30, 1942, Bart was the son of the late Fred James and Elizabeth (Bleau) Chamberlain. Bart was 71 years old. Bart was a 1959 graduate of the Burlington High School and then enlisted in the Air Force which he proudly served for four years. On March 6, 1965, he married the love of his life, Barbara Ryan. Bart began his career as an electrician retiring in 1994 from I.B.E.W. Local 300. He worked for Sherwin Electric Company with the union when he retired. He was an avid coin collector, enjoyed fishing, playing horse shoes, reading and a good game of pinochle. Survivors include his daughter, Valerie Eldred and her husband, Richard, of St. Albans; daughter Michelle Chamberlain of New Hampshire; son, Bart and his companion, Debbie Davis, of St. Albans; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott Theoret, Tiana Benway, Gregory & Christopher Chamberlain, Denielle May, Hadley & Abe Chamberlain and Shawn and Kylee Eldred and his great grandson, Daniel Theoret. Bart is also survived by his siblings Fred Chamberlain and his wife, Priscilla of PA; Roger Chamberlain and his wife, Lois, of VT; Estelle McClellan of VT; Robert Chamberlain and his wife, Pat, of VT; several aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews and family friend, Sonya Robtoy. In addition to his parents, Bart was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and their son, Russell on August 10, 1976, and his brother-in-law, Doug McClellan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So Main St., St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at 11:00 A.M. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Mr. Daniel Pudvah, Deacon at St. Monica Parish in Barre officiating. Interment with military honors will take place at the family lot in Maplewood Cemetery in Huntington.
