Obituary for Virginia (Purrier) "Ginny" Bombardier

St. Albans: Virginia (Purrier) “Ginny” Bombardier, 91, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in FAHC-Burlington. She was born in St. Albans, October 14, 1919, daughter of the late Frank & Jane (Edson) Purrier. In 1972, she married Victor Bombardier in Springfield, MA. Ginny graduated from BFA-St. Albans and from Bay Path Institute in Springfield, MA. She worked in secretarial capacity for the Ayrshire Breeders Association in Brandon, VT & the former Central Vermont Railway in St. Albans. For a number of years she was a secretary at the First Congregational Church in St. Albans. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jean B. Jernigan & husband, Dewitt of Virginia, her friend and step-daughter-in-law, Cathy Bombardier of Williston, five step-grandchildren, Timothy Bombardier & wife Karen, Robert Bombardier & wife Vera, Sharon Boisen & husband, Bruce, Chris Jernigan, Randy Jernigan and five step great-grandchildren. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, husband Victor Bombardier & step-son, James Bombardier. At Ginny’s request, there will be no calling hours with graveside services to be held in Greenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the Building Fund of the First Congregational Church, 27 Church Street, St. Albans, VT 05478. Assisting the family is the staff of the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So.
