Theresa D. Garceau St. Albans - Theresa D. Garceau, 88, a longtime area resident, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Castleman, Ontario, on December 5, 1918,the daughter of the late Alphonse and Alma (LaRocque) Gratton. On October 4, 1937, she married Gaston Garceau, who preceded her in death on January 8, 1988. Theresa retired in 1972 after twenty-one years with the Fonda Container Corporation. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of the Robert E. Glidden Post#758, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include her children; Henry Garceau and his wife, Marlene (Berger) of St. Albans, Rene Garceau and his wife, Betty (Richard) of Fairfield, LouAnne Reed and her husband, Roger of Sheldon, Pauline Austin and her husband, Ralph of St. Albans, Roland Garceau and his wife, Judy (Larsen) of Fairfield and Greg Garceau and his companion, Julie West of St. Albans, twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Theresa is also survived by her sister, Lillian Rocheleau of St. Albans, her brothers; Raymond and his wife, Lorraine Gratton of Montgomery, Ernest and Helen Gratton of St. Albans, her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Gratton of St. Albans and Julie Paquette of Swanton, her brother-in-law, Francis Lumbra of St. Albans and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Robbie Garceau, her brothers, Maurice, Leo, Henry, Gerard and Oliver "Joe" Gratton and three sisters, Lucille Racette, Jeanette Leadbeater and Pearl Lumbra. Theresa=s family would like to thank Rosie, her best friend and Nicki Paquette, her special nurse for the care that she received. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 23, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will be in the Garceau family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
