Obituary for Theresa Jean "Jeanie" Billow

Milton – Theresa Jean Billow, age 72, known to friends and family as “Jeanie”, went home to be with her parents on April 30th, 2018. She was surrounded by the love of her family at the home of her daughter, Karen.

Jeanie was born on March 15th, 1946, to the late Lucille (Gauthier) Boivin and Henry “Stanley” Boivin. She was married over 40 years to the love of her life, Thomas Billow. She was a feisty little fire cracker who loved her family and was passionate about leaving them with a written biography of her life thru scrapbooks and journals.

She is survived by her children. Karen Billow Gonyeau, Jennifer Jean Harrod (James) and Matthew Billow (Jada), as well as six grandchildren, Sarah Mae Gonyeau, Alex and Hillary Hogle, Codie Hillstad, Brittanie Harrod and Jon Billow and one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Staples.

Jeanie is also survived by her sisters, Elaine Robtoy (Ronald) and Annette Connelly (Phil) and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, younger brother, Charles “Charlie” Boivin and several extended family members.

Jeanie, a lifelong resident of Franklin County, graduated from Holy Angels at the age of sixteen and employed one month later at Whitmore Food. Her various other positions include licensed nursing home administrator for Redstone Villa, then she spent her last twenty working years as the customer service supervisor at Fonda Container, until the day they closed their doors.

The last couple years of her life, she enjoyed “supervising” while her daughter planted her landscape plans and “stalking” her grandchildren on social media. She saved ever single photo they posted to her computer. Jeanie also very much enjoyed spending time with her 4-legged family, Spencer aka “Doodle Bug”, Marley aka “Pip-Squeek” and Luka aka “Moo-Moo”.

Jeanie’s family would like to thank the VNA Hospice Care for their committed support.

Relatives and friends will remember and celebrate Jeanie’s life by attending calling hours on Thursday, May 10th, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.

A prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM by the Reverend Mr. Duane E. Langlois, Deacon at Holy Angels Parish.

Another celebration of Jeanie’s life will be held in June at a time and place to be announced.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Visiting Nurses Association, Hospice Program, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vermont 05446.
