Obituary for Sylva Roger "Ti-Boy" Langevin

St. Albans - Sylva “Ti-Boy” Langevin, age 80, passed away on October 22nd, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family after several years of failing health. He was born in Highgate, VT on June 10th, 1933, the son of Henri and Beatrice (Gagne) Langevin. Ti-Boy was a 1952 graduate of St. Anne’s Academy and always looked forward to attending his class reunions. He married Annette Comeau on October 8th, 1955. Ti-Boy had a profound love for his family, friends, gardening, French music, dancing, hockey, baseball and the Boston Red Sox. His fondest moments were coaching and watching his children and grandchildren play hockey, baseball, softball and figure skating. For 15 years, he collected tickets for the BFA hockey teams. He was a master of ceremonies for numerous weddings and called square dances in the area. He was a member of St. Jean the Baptiste, Moose Lodge and the St. Albans Senior Center. Ti-Boy’s favorite past-time was spending many hours in his garden with his best friend (son) Fred. Ti-Boy was employed by H.P. Hood for 28 years, most of those years as a milkman for which he is fondly remembered. In addition to his wife, Annette, Ti-Boy is survived by his sons, Henri (Cheryl), Robert (Sarah), Andy (Melanie), Roger, Alfred and his daughters, Claire (Chad) Langevin, Linda (Dan) Marlow, and Marie (David) Shanks. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Langevin, Chris, Maria and Katie LaFlam, David and Kyle Marlow, Ben (Nellie) Marlow, Bob Jr and Kaylee Langevin, Andy Jr and Nicole Langevin, Sylvie, Samantha and Nate Shanks and his great grandchildren, Colin and Brady Langevin, Breauna and Brook Trayah. He is also survived by his sisters, Muriel Moreau and Henrietta (Rene) Choquette and his good friends, Harold and Rita Gagnon. Ti-Boy was predeceased by his son, Anthony (Tony) Langevin, his parents, his brother, Adrien and his sister, Monique. We will dearly miss his smile and kindness to everyone and his “NO SWEAT” approach to life. A very special thanks to all those who have supported our family on this journey including, Dr. Frank and Judy Zsoldos, Dr. Julie Adams, Dr. Jeffrey Rimmer, Dr. Bonita Libman, Dr. Peter Cataldo, Franklin County Rehab Center, Mr. Ted Yandow, GMTA, FAHC Dialysis (St. Albans Unit), and Buddy.
