Obituary for Stanley Burton Webster
Georgia – Born in St. Albans on December 9, 1929, a lifelong resident of Georgia, Stanley passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2013. Many generations of Stanley’s family were Georgia residents, the town was always important to him. Foremost amongst his many accomplishments on July 4th, 1954, Stanley married his sweetheart and lifelong companion, Lois Boomhower Webster. Stanley farmed for 30 years in Georgia Center; he also served on the School Board, Select Board and Georgia Volunteer Fire Department. From 1991 to 1994, he served in the Vermont State Legislature. After retiring from dairy farming, he built the Blue Goose Antique Shop, where Lois did the picking and sales while he refinished furniture. In addition to his wife, Lois Lillian Webster, Stanley is survived by his children; daughter, Martha Webster Demars and her husband, Greg Demars; daughter, Marilyn Webster; son, Howard Webster and his wife, Susan Webster; daughter, Allison Webster; his grandson, Aaron Pyer Webster and his wife, Kristin Hier Webster; granddaughter, Amanda Webster Perry, and her husband, Travis Perry; grandson, Torrey Webster and also by his great-grandsons, Declan Ray Perry and Michael Stanley Webster. Stanley is also survived by his sister, Jeanne Josselin; her son, Tom and his wife, Sarah and a nephew, Arnie Josselin. Stanley’s family will receive friends at their home on Ethan Allen Highway on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
