Obituary for Scott David Sweeney

North Hero - Scott David Sweeney, age 55, passed away from a sudden heart attack in the early morning of Saturday, September 8, 2018, after spending a wonderful evening pre-celebrating his birthday with his jamboree family at Carvers.

Scott is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cindy Fay Sweeney, of North Hero, his daughter, Jessica Kohler and her fiancé, Jeffrey Stewart of Chester Township, PA, his one and only grandson. Benjamin Kohler, along with Jeff's two little girls who stole his heart as though they were his own grandchildren, Madison and Alexis Stewart, his father, Guy "David" Sweeney of Burlington, his brother, Stewart Sweeney and his wife, Kayoko, of Tokyo, Japan, Stephen Sweeney , of Minneapolis, MN, his mother in law, Donna Fay, of Fairfax, his uncle in law, Bruce Frazier of Forney, TX, his best friend and fishing buddy, Dale Newland and his wife Carrie (his #1) of Barton, his barn daughters Jesse Clements of Milton and Skyelour Blair Pretty of Highgate, his "newly adopted" daughter, Kristianne Biasiello of Philadelphia, PA, and his beloved "Princess" Tia the weimaraner.

He was predeceased by his mother, Eraldine "Sandy" Sweeney, and his father in law, William Fay.

Scott was a very proud member of the United States Coast Guard, spending several years, protecting the coast of the northeast. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending hours in the woods and on the water. He loved auto racing, and had travelled to multiple racetracks. Scott loved good music, and had recently taken up playing the mandolin. He was an awesome listener, he was a strong man, and touched people in ways that made them feel loved and cared for. He was a great husband, a loving father and Jessica's favorite archery coach, and a fantastic Grampie.

In his recent years, Scott became a member and later president of the Milton Eagles Club. He was proud of his role and truly wanted to make sure he was giving back to the community.

For those who knew Scott, they knew he didn't want people to shed tears over him when he left us, he wanted us to celebrate his life and have one hell of a party. As such, the family has followed his wishes and will be hosting a Celebration of Life for him at the Milton Eagles Club, 42 Centre Drive, Milton on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 1:00 pm. We invite you to come out and celebrate a man who loved a good beer, good food, and good times.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hunt of a Lifetime Program, c/o Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation, P.O. Box 241, Harborcreek, Pennsylvania 16421 or please go to www.huntofalifetime.org, and make sure to list Scott Sweeney on the donation form.
