St. Albans – Sarah Chase Nichols a longtime area resident passed away Tuesday evening, March 27th, 2018, at the McClure - Miller VNA Respite House with her loving family at her side.
Born in Windsor, Vermont on August 13th, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Frances (Taylor) Chase. Sarah was 76 years old.
On October 9th, 1965, she married Richard C. Nichols, who survives her.
Sarah was educated in Windsor and then began a long association with the former, Union Carbide, Everyready and the Purina Company. She worked on the Lithium battery line and was present when the first battery was manufactured. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish, a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne and volunteered several years at the Franklin County Humane Society.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, Richard Nichols, Sr. of St. Albans; their children, Richard Nichols, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Fairfield, Lisa Sykes and her husband, Anthony, of St. Albans and Kim LeBlanc and her husband, Charles, of Manchester, New Hampshire, as well as her grandchildren, Kourtney, Brandon, Kylie, Kaleb and Allison and two great-grandchildren, Koopar and Khenzie.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sarah’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, April 2nd, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
