St. Albans – Ronald H. Martin, a lifelong area resident passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care with his family at his side. He was born in Alburgh, on March 22, 1936, the son of the late Harry and Viva (Creller) Martin. Ron was 76 years old. On August 24, 1963, in New York City, Ron married Anne Hudson, who survives him. Ron retired as Maintenance Supervisor for the Vermont Agency of Transportation following 37 years of service. More recently he was associated with Vaillancourt Transportation. Ron enjoyed being with his family, especially time at his camper, skiing, biking, playing golf or their time on the beach together. He was an avid gardener and was especially proud of his flowers. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Anne, of St. Albans; their sons, Ronnie, of St. Albans Bay, Rob and his wife, Tricia, of Colchester and Peter and his wife, Christie, of St. Albans and his grandchildren, Levi, Calypso, Liam, Grace Zach and Emma. Ron is also survived by his siblings, Norma Scullen of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Dale Martin and his wife, Sis, of Georgia, Carol Burns of West Palm Beach, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will be then be held at 1:30 PM in the Heald Chapel. The Reverend Mr. Duane E. Langlois, Deacon assigned to Holy Angels Parish will officiate.
