Obituary for Robert C. Mayo

St. Albans Bay – Robert C. Mayo, a longtime area resident passed away early Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his daughter, Virginia at his side. Born in Champlain, New York on December 19, 1922, he was the son of the late Arthur and Maud (LaVallee) Mayo. Bob was 90 years old. On April 22, 1946, he married Barbara L. MacCallum, who predeceased him on July 12, 2010. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his son, William Thomas Mayo, 2 brothers, Ernest and Herbert and 2 sisters, Helen Chipman and Blanche Findley. Survivors include his daughter Virginia Patterson and her husband, Scott, of St. Albans, his daughter Cynthia Campagna and her husband, Roland, of Richmond, VT; and his son Robert Bruce Mayo and his wife, Judy Erskine of Mesa, Arizona; 3 grandchildren Toby Patterson, Josh Campagna and Sarah Patterson; his sister, Rose Wells of Milton and several nieces and nephews. Bob retired after 43 years from Agrimark, formerly known as H.P. Hood Company on July 31, 1985. He was an active member of Franklin Lodge # 4, F&AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, Saint Albans. Masonic Lodge # 4, F&AM will conduct their ritualistic service for their departed brother during calling hours at 7:30 PM in the Heald Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1529 Avenue Cedar, Montreal, Quebec H3G1A6 or Franklin Lodge # 4, F&AM, c/o Gerald Morong, 76 Prospect Hill Road, St. Albans, VT 05478.
