Obituary for Richard Coleman Thomas
Fairfield, VT/Reno, NV - Richard Coleman Thomas, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of the late Richard B. and Margaret (Flaherty) Thomas. Richard was educated in Beverly, Massachusetts and then joined the United States Army and served his country for three years, receiving his Honorable Discharge in August of 1962. He was then employed as a Tech Writer for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, now the Boeing Company and then for Northrop-Grumman Corporation. Survivors include his brother, Charles “Chuck†Thomas and his wife, Patricia of Fairfield, his nieces and nephews, Stephen Thomas and his wife, Karin of Bath, Maine; Lenette Peterson and her husband, Eric of Merrimack, New Hampshire; Lauren Thomas of Austin, Texas; Kellie Danyow and her husband, Brett of Ferrisburg, Vermont; Michael Thomas and his wife, Shantel of Fairfield, Vermont and Margaret “Peg†Thomas of Fairfield, Vermont. He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews. A private graveside funeral service will be held this spring at the convenience of his family at the Thomas family lot in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fairfield. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 386 Stephensen Road, Lowell, Vermont 05847. Assisting the Thomas family is Raymond “Rett†Heald of the Heald Funeral Home and Cremation Service in St. Albans.
