Obituary for Rena Mae Bruley

St. Albans - Rena Mae Bruley, 80, a lifelong resident of this area passed away Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008, at the Franklin County Rehab Center with her loving family at her side. Born in Sheldon, Vermont on March 12, 1928, Rena was the daughter of the late Richard and Stella (Greenwood) Hoose. Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Bruley on August 21, 1985. Rena was employed and a very active member of the Franklin County Senior Center for twenty years, was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 321 of St. Albans, an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving grandchildren. Survivors include her two sons, Mark Bruley and his wife, Lisa of Swanton; Michael Bruley and his wife, Denise of Swanton; her daughter, Suzanne Button of St. Albans; her grandchildren, Mark Jr., Chelsea, Ashley, Heather, Erica, Allison, Steven, David Jr., Arlene, Jennifer, Julie and John and many great-grandchildren. Rena is also survived by her two brothers, Richard Hoose and his wife, Elaine of Westminster, Vermont; and James Hoose and his wife, Joyce of Highgate, Vermont, her two sisters, Betty Mack of Walpole, New Hampshire and Marguerite Hoose of Rutland, Vermont, several nieces, nephews and special friend, Alice Martell of St. Albans. In addition to her parents and husband, Harold, Rena was preceded in death by a son, David W. Bruley, Sr. on June 12, 1996, two brothers, Alvin Hoose and his wife, Carol and Francis Hoose and his wife, Effie, four sisters, Marjorie “Peggy” Hoose, Susan Raymond and her husband, Delphis, Gertrude Hoose and Violet Hoose, a brother-in-law, Reginald Mack and special friends, Sally Ellsworth and Rose Richards. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main Street with the Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois, Deacon at Holy Angels Parish officiating. Interment will follow in the Bruley family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Rena’s family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 5-8 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
