Obituary for Rachel B. Beaulieu

St. Albans – Rachel B. Beaulieu, 82, a resident of this area for the past sixty-eight years, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the St. Albans Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family at her side. She was born on April 29, 1926, in Cowpens, South Carolina. Rachel was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Belle (McIntyre) Gilbert. She was married to Wilfred Beaulieu, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1993. Rachel for many years was employed as a cook at the former Hotel Kelley Restaurant, Holiday House Nursing Home, Redstone Villa Nursing Home and the former Verdelle Village Extended Care Facility. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish and a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Survivors include her children, Lawrence Beaulieu and his wife, Nancy of Swanton; Maurice Beaulieu and his wife, Ann of Georgia; Doris Lamothe and her husband, Marcel of St. Albans; and Robert Beaulieu and his wife, Kerry of St. Albans; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty great -grandchildren, a special granddaughter, Amy Mears and her husband, Travis, who took care of Rachel, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rachel was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Gonyeau and her husband, Robert; her grandsons, Marcel and Christopher; her siblings, Ruth Burgess, Paul Gilbert, Boyce Gilbert and Howard Gilbert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street. The Reverend Maurice J. Roy will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Beaulieu family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Rachel’s family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
