Obituary for Norma L. Gadouas

Norma L. Gadouas St. Albans - Mrs. Norma L. Gadouas, age 82, died with family by her side on Thursday, January 18, 2007, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born, September 8, 1924, in St. Albans the daughter of the late Raymond Guyette and Florence (Richard) Guyette-Gadouas. On December 28, 1945, Norma married Alfred Gadouas, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1980. Norma attended area schools and worked in Massachusetts and in the St. Albans area at various businesses including the telephone company and the Holiday House elder care facility. She enjoyed helping people. For many years she was an active member of various clubs including the local ladies of St. Anne and the former Holy Angel Mothers Club. She worked on Harvest Dinners, bingos, bazaars, banquets, etc. A devoted wife and mother, Norma took pride in her cooking and it was enjoyed by many friends and family at her home gatherings, especially during the holidays. Survivors include her three children, Gerald Gadouas, Laurie Gadouas and Susan Powers all of St. Albans; her two grandsons, Randy Powers and his wife, Angela and Steven Powers and his partner, Kristi Fletcher; her three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Devin and Owen Powers and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. in Holy Angels Church on Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Per Norma’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Program of the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478 or the the Linda Wood Mason Breast Cancer Fund, c/o Peoples Trust Company, Attn: Judy Smith, 123 First Street, Swanton, Vermont 05488.
