Georgia – Neil E. Conger, 75, a longtime Georgia Shore resident passed away Monday afternoon, March 15, 2010, at his home with his family at his side. Born on March 5, 1935, in Milton, Vermont he was the son of the late Fred and Florence (Sadie) Conger. In Milton, Vermont on February 19, 1955, Neil married the former Marette King, who survives him. Neil was associated with Hungerford Ford, George S. Wood, operated his own farm for thirty years and worked for R.L. Vallee, Inc. He retired from Ultramar. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Marette of Georgia; their sons, Mark Conger of St. Albans and Patrick Conger and his companion, Barbara Parah of St. Albans ; their daughter, Melody Adams and her husband, RoyAllen of Ocala, Florida; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his sisters, Helen Perron and Elizabeth Rutz and a special friend Roger LeClair. In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his son, Tracy Conger and his siblings, Gladys Gaudette, Irene Perras, Lorraine Gratton, Robert Conger, Donald Conger and Ronald Conger. Neil’s’ family will receive friends at the Heald Funeral Home on Thursday March 18th from 6 to 9 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St, St. Albans. Pastor Bruce Patterson of the Northside Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Conger family lot in the Hope Cemetery in Georgia. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 55 Day Lane, Williston, Vermont 05495.
