Obituary for Naomi Ruth "Nan" Patenaude

St. Albans – Naomi “Nan” Ruth Patenaude, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away early Saturday June 12, 2010, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care with her family at her side. Born on July 17, 1921, in St. Albans, she was the daughter of the late, Clayton Delbert and Stella Johnson (Bockus) Greene. On April 4, 1942, in Mississippi, she married Oscar L. Patenaude, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1978. Nan was a 1940 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and an avid reader. For many years she worked at the Carousel Children’s Shop and volunteered at the Northwestern Medical Center. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Pauline Patenaude Helias of St. Albans; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gerard Patenaude of St. Albans and Maurice “Skip” Patenaude of Waverly, TN; very special friends, Pauline Kelley and her 2 daughters, Thayer Jo and Cheryl Ann and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Nan’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of her family at the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 so Main St, St. Albans. The Reverend Herm Benjamin will officiate. Interment will follow in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery.
