St. Albans – Our most dearest wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Nancy Choiniere has passed away peacefully on March 5, 2015, at the University of Vermont Medical Center with her loving family at her side after a short period of declining health. She was born on March 20, 1947, the daughter of the late Doris (Devarney) Thuot and Joseph Thuot. She was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy and co-owner of The Champlain Collection with her husband, Normand. As a tennis enthusiast, Nancy was for many years involved in USTA tennis and represented several teams as captain. From 1984 – 1987 Nancy coached the girls BFA St. Albans tennis team. She will be forever loved and missed by her dearest husband, Normand Choiniere; daughter, Cynthia Murtagh and husband, Michael Hurst of Kittery Point, ME; son, James Murtagh of Truckee, CA; granddaughter, Hillary Murtagh of Boston, MA and her most special companion, Roger, the Cocker Spaniel. Family members include brother, Gary Thuot and wife, Anne Lisa of Delaware; sister, Susan and husband, Matt O’Connor of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, Florence Dexter of Highgate Springs, VT, Rachel Boudreau of Sheldon, VT, Marie Trevithick of Shelburne, VT, Leona Nadeau of Essex Jct, VT and Diane Thuot of New Hampshire; brothers-in-law, Allen Choiniere of St. Albans, VT and Mark Choiniere of Johnson, VT. Included are several dearly loved nieces, nephews and some of the greatest friends ever. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Richard Thuot. Nancy will be remembered for her kind heart and compassion to all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12th at 2:00 PM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 245 Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant.
