Obituary for Mearle A. Bushey

Swanton – Mearle A. Bushey, 66, a resident of this community for 42 years passed away Friday evening, June 15, 2012, in the comfort of her home and with her family at her side. Born on July 25, 1945, in Sainte Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Robert Alexander and Lillian (Welch) Church. Mearle was a 1967 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, enjoyed sewing, dancing and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Kelley Lee and her husband, William, of Fairfield, Jackie McNall of Sheldon and Shawn Bushey and his longtime companion, Jana Ward, of West Swanton. Mearle is also survived by her grandchildren, Kody, Paige, Ethan, Shaylee, sister, Doreen Lussier of Sheldon and close friend, Melanie Boudreau of Swanton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Church; her father, Robert Alexander; her step-father, Vernal Church and her sister, Janet Welch. Mearle’s family would like to thank the staff at Franklin County Home Health Agency for their care and support, especially Mearle’s care givers, Nikki, Paula, Kate, Keith Mitch, Ann and Nicole and her “TLC “ girl, Jess. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will then be held at 7:00 PM in the Heald Chapel with the Reverend Reid Farrell, Rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Swanton officiating. Interment will be private in the Church family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery.
