St. Albans - Martha Ryan, age 59, was set free from her 11-year battle with Peritoneal Mesothelioma, on April 4th, 2018, at her home with her loving husband and beloved cats by her side. Martha fought with dignity and grace, never complaining.
She was born on July 8, 1958, to Richard and Janet (Casavant) Letourneau. She was a graduate of BFA St. Albans and CCV and began her working career at A.N. Deringer in the summer of 1978.
She loved cats, especially siamese, cooking, knitting, traveling and her family. She was also both a Trekkie and a Parrot - head. She was very active with the Franklin County Humane Society, and she was loved by both her work and church families. Martha married the love of her life, David Ryan, on August 9th, 1986.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, and her loving felines.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, David, her brother, Mark and wife Georgette of Utah, and their family; sisters in law, Judy Gadue, Barbara Day, Kelly Connolly and her husband, Kevin, their daughter, Taylor, Martha’s goddaughter, and her three cats, Riley, Coco, and Greycie.
She also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Letourneau, L’Esperance and Casavant families, along with her nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Ryan family.
Friends may call on Monday, April 9th, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
The Office of Burial and Holy Communion will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, corner of Church and Fairfield Street, St. Albans. Handicap access is on the Fairfield Street side of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadow, St. Albans, Vermont 05478 or Hospice Program of Franklin County Home Health, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vermont 05478.
