Obituary for Mark Stephen O'Brien

Swanton – Mark S. O’Brien, 54, a resident of this area since 1980, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at his home. He was born in Rochester, New York on July 1, 1956, the son of Lois (Stemples) O’Brien and the late James A. O’Brien. Mark was a veteran of the Unites States Coast Guard. He worked in food service sales. In his leisure he enjoyed working with stained glass, photography, painting, fishing, boating and camping with his family. Mark is survived by his wife, Doreen (Lavoie) O’Brien of Swanton, his mother, Lois O’Brien of Suffolk, VA, his daughter, Danielle and her husband, Travis Loiselle of Sheldon; two sons, Dustin O’Brien and his significant other, Michelle Devoid of Burlington, and Dillon O’Brien of Swanton. He also leaves three sisters; Kathleen and her husband, Ralph Filicko, Jeanne and her husband, Richard Pollock, and Patricia O’Brien all of Virginia and two brothers; Paul O’Brien of Florida and James T. O’Brien of Virginia. Also two grandchildren whom he adored; Lillian Loiselle and Hunter Mark O’Brien and his father and mother-in-Law, Richard and Muriel Lavoie and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 3:00 P.M. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans with Deacon Duane Langlois of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Albans Bay Cemetery.
