Obituary for Marjorie Richard

Marjorie Richard St. Albans - - Mrs. Marjorie Richard, 97, a lifelong area resident, passed away on September 26, 2006, at Redstone Villa Nursing Home. She was born in Highgate Falls on October 26, 1908, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Lena (Bushey) Ploof. On September 18, 1930, she married Edward Richard, Jr. who predeceased her in 1980. Mrs. Richard was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Fairfield and was formerly employed at the Peoples Trust Company for twelve years. Survivors include a son; Robert E. Richard and his wife Judy of Wildwood, Florida, three daughters and their husbands; Nancy J. and Francis O’Leary of Summerfield, Florida, Sally A. and Donald Myers of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Betty J. and Rene Garceau of Fairfield, a sister; Katherine Perkins of Bethel, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson. Besides her husband, Edward, she was predeceased by a brother; Charles Ploof and three sisters; Wilma Touseau, Betty Jones, and Sylvia Paratta. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at the family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials in her name to St. Patrick’s Church, P.O. Box 18, Fairfield, VT 05455.
