St. Albans - Marjorie Ellen Gray Villa, widow of Ramon Alberto Villa, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. Born in St. Albans on February 15, 1925, to Flavilla May and Charles Thompson Gray, she is the last of her five siblings - Laura, Eleanor, John, Ruth, and Franklin. A life-long resident of St. Albans, Marjorie was an active and inspirational member of First Congregational Church of St. Albans. She adored her ladies Canasta Club on Friday nights. She was one of the first employees of Kerbs Memorial Hospital and then enjoyed a rewarding career at Bellows Free Academy, notorious for always balancing the books to the penny. She also was a member of the St. Albans Rotary Club, St. Albans Historical Museum, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Michigan Chapter of the Mayflower Society. A feisty red-head, she enjoyed knitting, baking, telling stories, and listening to music, especially the Boston Pops. She hosted years of summer vacations and holidays at her and Rays lake house on St. Albans Bay and was known as the family historian. She is survived by her two step-children, Alice Watras and her husband, Robert, of North Port, FL and Albert Villa of Burlington, VT. She has four loving grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Laura Watras Murach and her husband, Bryan, of North Granby, CT; Catherine Watras and T.J. Riccardo of Burlington, CT; David Watras and his fianc, Jeannine Gallagher of Jacksonville, FL and Erika Villa of Hamden, CT. She leaves two precious great-grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn Murach, who she loved spending time with. Marjorie leaves several beloved nieces and nephews and her special cousin, Marjorie Jon Romana of Oklahoma City, OK who she loved like a sister. She fondly recalled their geriatric Thelma and Louise road trip to Arizona and California. Marjorie leaves this world having enriched many lives with her caring and love. She had many beloved friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 28th, 2015, at 1:00 PM at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 27 Church Street, St. Albans, VT.
