St. Albans - In Loving Memory of –Marion Mazie Hardy, who went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, March 12, 2012, at the age of 84. Marion was born on May 6, 1927, and lived in the Burlington area for most of her life. Marion enjoyed spending time with her family and being in the company of animals (particularly kitty cats). She worked at George Little Press and the UVM Print Shop and finally retired after working several years at Meredith Burda in Lynchburg,VA. She spent many of her retired years living at the Court Yard in Winooski, until 2010 when she moved to Hawk’s Nest, in St. Albans, VT, where she could be closer to her daughter Jamie DeGraff. Jamie supported Marion in her daily life over the last several years in order to assist Marion in living a happy and independent life. The family is grateful to all those who cared for Marion in her last week at Fletcher Allan Hospital—the ICU nurses and staff as well as her doctors. A special thank you to Dr. Melissa Brandes for all of the extraordinary care and attention she showed Marion. Marion was welcomed Home by her son Bruce Hardy who preceded her in death in April, 2004, and by her parents William Powell and Nellie Nichols of St. Albans. She is survived by her 5 children, Edmund Hardy and his wife, Carol, of Essex Junction, VT, Gail Balentine and her husband, Charles, of McElhattan, PA, Debra Chagnon of Burlington, VT, Jamie DeGraff and her husband, Rick, of St. Albans, VT, and Carla Dusablon of Milton, VT, as well as 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans on Sunday, March 18, at 1:00 P.M.
