Obituary for Marion M. Schibi
Fletcher – Marion M. Schibi a longtime area resident passed away early Sunday December 2, 2012, at the Vermont Respite House in Williston with her family at her side. She was born on July 13, 1924, in New Milford, Connecticut the daughter of the late Adam and Josephine (Ozga) Michalek. Marion was 88 years old. Marion was married on June 25, 1955, in Canaan, Connecticut to Frederick F. Schibi, who preceded her in death on December 21, 2007. Marion and Fred then moved to Vermont, where they operated the Schibi Farm Supply, Company for over 20 years, after which they retired and moved to their farm in Fletcher. They loved the retirement years, just to relax and enjoy their beautiful home and farm. Motor home trips were also a great joy for them both. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Waite of Jericho and Jean Schibi of St. Albans; grandchildren, Jarod, Joseph, Fred and Emily and her only sister, Julia, in Canaan, Connecticut and brother, Ted, in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Adam, Jr., and Frank. At Marion’s’ request there will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Church Road in Fairfield. The Reverend William P. Giroux will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the family lot in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marion’s name may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, Vermont 05478.
