Obituary for Marcelle S. "Mim" Bouchard

St. Albans – Marcelle S. "Mim' Bouchard, 93, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2009 in Birchwood Terrace Health Care in Burlington. Her loving family was at her side. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, August 29, 1915, the daughter of the late Alfred and Evelyn (L’Ecuyer) Souliere. Her husband, George Bouchard died May 9, 1993. Marcelle was a communicant of Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Albans. In addition to raising a large family, Marcelle worked as a Legal Secretary. She loved sewing and making quilts, was very active in the Holy Angel’s Mother’s Club and she especially enjoyed tutoring grade school students on multiple subjects. She was the book keeper for the family business, Bouchard’s Lawn Mower Service. Being originally from Montreal she enjoyed traveling there to visit her many cousins. She and her husband George were very active in the Vt. 251 club until his passing. Survivors include three sons; Larry Bouchard and his wife Fran (Bessette) of St. Albans, Vt., Ron Bouchard of Jeffersonville, Vt. And Paul Bouchard and his wife Carol (Cornish) of Williston, Vt., four daughters; Pauline Raine of Rhineback, NY, Louise Byron and her husband David of Canandaigua, NY, Helen Bouchard and her partner, Stuart Crothers of Marcellus, NY, and Jeb Bouchard and her husband Clark Amadon of Moretown, Vt., a sister, Gloria Thibault of St. Albans, VT, seventeen grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, George, a grandson, Timothy Raine, two sisters, Cecile “Ceci” Fahl and Laurie “Peanut” Desautels, and a Son-in-Law Alfred Raine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, 172 N. Main St., Barre, VT 05461-4124. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family through
