St. Albans - Major Richard F. Jarvis, U.S.A.F (Retired) died on January 1, 2014, at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans. He was born in Isle LaMotte on December 27, 1919, the son of the late Wilbur and Katherine (Tusa) Jarvis. He leaves his wife, Doris (LaBounty) Jarvis and children, Molly Jarvis of Burlington, Vermont, Richard Jarvis Jr. and his wife, Claudia, of Sanford, Maine, James Jarvis and his wife, Karen, of Buffalo, New York, Arlene Jarvis, of St. Albans Vermont and Nancy Mueller and her husband, John, of LaFayette, New York. Also his sister, Velma Cameron, of Alburgh, Vermont, Theresa Hinman of South Burlington Vermont and brothers, Ken Jarvis of Burlington, Vermont and William Jarvis in Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Madeline Pearo and brother, Florin Jarvis. A private memorial service and burial are being planned for the spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont.
