Lucille Brosseau Racine St. Albans/So Burlington - Lucille Brosseau Racine, 86, beloved wife, aunt, godmother and friend died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at the Northwestern Medical Center. She was born on October 7, 1921, in Highgate Falls, Vermont, the daughter of Eugene and Cora (Piedalue) Brosseau. On May 18, 1957, she married Joseph Rene Racine in Holy Angels Church. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1995. After graduating from Highgate High School she was employed at the former Fonda Container Corporation and Union Carbide Corporation in St. Albans. Lucille resided in South Burlington, Vermont and was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews for her endless supply of cookies, her love of gardening and her tireless effort on keeping everyone updated with the family history. Lucille is survived by her sisters; Cecile Malouf, Laura Dansereau, Alice Rose, Blanche Partlow, Irene Brosseau, her brother: Paul Brosseau, her brothers and sisters-in-law; George and Lucienne Brosseau, Leo and Ruth Brosseau, Philip and Irene Brosseau, Gabrielle (Racine) Kramer and Marion (Racine) Kozel and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister; Marie Brosseau, her brothers and their wives, Dr. Albert and Julianna Brosseau, John and Bea Brosseau and Aime and Madeleine Brosseau, her sisters and their husbands, Theresa and Rudolph Lambert and Lorraine and Maurice Cadieux, sister-in-law: Eva Brosseau, her bothers-in-law, Joseph Malouf, Armand Dansereau and Henry Rose. Lucille is also predeceased by her husband, Rene’s siblings: Doris (Racine) Helwitz, Valeda (Racine) Belval, Eugene Racine, Marie Anna Racine, Conrad L. Racine, Lionel “Pete†Racine, George H. Racine, Marcellin Racine and Lucien Racine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Prayers of Committal and interment will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Resurrection Park Cemetery on the Hinesburg Road in South Burlington. Lucille’s family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
