Obituary for Lorraine Mae Plouffe

St. Albans - Lorraine Mae Plouffe, 78, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Sheldon, on November 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Donald and Doris (Corwell) Machia. Lorraine was married to George E. Plouffe, who preceded her in death on September 22, 2006. Lorraine enjoyed sewing and quilting, cooking, canning, gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, David Plouffe and wife, Debbie, of St. Albans, Brian Plouffe of St. Albans, Cynthia Stenta and husband, Mark, of Swanton, Lisa Callan and husband, Shawn, of Swanton, Bonnie Plouffe and husband, Christopher, of St. Albans and Connie Kempton and husband, Terry, of Swanton; her grandchildren, Missy, Timmy, Jessie, Emily, Mark, Melanie, Brandon, Sam, Kyle, Nick, Hunter, Megan, Josh, Erin, Julie, Samantha, Nicole and Emma and her eleven great-grandchildren. Lorraine is also survived by her siblings, Sally White and husband, John , of Fairfield, Sandra White of Highgate, Beverly Desorcie and husband, Marcel, of St. Albans, Diane Vautrin and husband, George, of Cohoes, NY , Eleanor Snedecore and husband, “Buckie” of Cohoes, NY , Donald Machia and Thorton Machia both of Highgate and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Earl Machia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday December 4, 2011, from 4 to 7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Monday December 5th at 11:00 A.M. in the Heald Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
