Lois B. Condon passed away on October 12, 2015, at the Vermont Respite House at age 91. Born in Marshfield, Vermont, the daughter of Frank and Beryl (Gilman) Brown, Lois received her nurses training at the Mary Fletcher School of Nursing. She worked for the Burlington VNA and then at Pediatric Associates for more than 25 years. Lois married Henry H. Condon of Burlington on June 21, 1947. They raised their three children in Burlington and Mallets Bay, Colchester. In retirement, Lois and Henry lived in St. Albans and spent 25 winters in Venice Beach, Florida. After Henry passed away in 1994, Lois moved to The Pines Senior Living Community in South Burlington where she enjoyed dear friends and a very active social life for more than 14 years. Lois is survived by her children, Phillip Condon and his partner, Jane Suder of St. Albans, Patricia Condon of Colchester, Perry and Cathy Condon of Burlington; grandchildren, Coleen and Callie Kohaut of St. Albans, Heather and Jim Smith and her great grandchildren, Jermaine and Amaya of Colchester. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Davis of South Burlington, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Henry, her parents, her daughter-in-law, Tressa Condon, and her siblings, Winston Brown, Ralph Brown, and Alice Bellmare. At Lois’ request, a private graveside service will be held later this week at St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life to be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 2 to 5pm at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center. Lois’s family extends their deep thanks to the very special people at the UVM Medical Center and the Vermont Respite House who so compassionately cared for Lois. Memorial contributions may be made to Holiday House Residential Care Facility, Patient Activities Fund, 642 Sheldon Road, St. Albans, Vermont 05478, the National Kidney Foundation Serving New England, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, Massachusetts 02062 or the Vermont Respite House at 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
