Morrisville/Georgia – On the evening of August 19, 2015, we lost our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the U.V.M. Medical Center. Lloyd was born on May 22, 1956 in Morrisville, VT at Copley Hospital the son of Floyd and Alberta May (Frazier) Longe. He enjoyed farming, working with his best friend, Sonny Miller and cattle dealer, John McCraken, his many camping trips, the Boston Red Sox, and his sugaring operation, but he always put his family first. Lloyd also was member of the Georgia Fire Department for 20 years and also served on the St. Albans City Fire Department Call Force. Lloyd leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Marie (Wells) Longe. They moved from Morrisville, December 21, 1975 to work on Floyd’s farm. He also leaves his children, Kathy Longe (Shawn Badger), William Longe, Elsie Martin (Mitchell), Alberta Smith (Rob) and Robert Longe (Sarah) as well as his grandchildren, Nicole, Victoria, Elizabeth, Adam and Alex and his yellow labs, Sonny and Remington. Lloyd also leaves his brothers, Lee (Glenda) and Leon (Virginia), a special sister-in-law, Lori Langdell (Martin) and her family and many friends including, Glendon Palmer’s Boys, Butch Blackmore and Chuck Blair. He was predeceased by his father, Floyd, in 1996 and his mother, Alberta in 2013. She was his rock. Many thanks to Northwestern Medical Ctr and U.V.M. Medical Ctr. for their compassionate care. We were granted the last 8 years of having Lloyd with us thanks to Dr. Fred Rogers, Dr. Charisa and Dr. Lietner during life threatning surgery. Also his nurses from Home Health, Joyce Ferland Fitzgerald, that went above and beyond her duties to put a smile on his face these last few months and to Walter and Kay Krul and Amcare Ambulance for their support and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans. Interment services will be private and at the convenience of his family.
