Larry L. Coons St. Albans: A Mass of Christian Burial for Larry L. Coons, who passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 was celebrated Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the Church of the Ascension Parish in Georgia with Father Maurice J. Roy, Pastor officiating, assisted by Eucharistic Minister, Arthur Renaud. Larry’s daughter, Cathy Potvin placed the crucifix on her Dad’s casket. The guitarist and soloist was Gail Perras. A selection of special hymns included, “Here I am Lordâ€, “There is a Quiet Understandingâ€, “All That I ask of Youâ€, “Breath on Meâ€, “Song of Farewell†and “Father Lift Me Upâ€. As a special tribute, to the Vietnam Veteran, The Veterans Services Honor Guard from Green Mountain Post #1 American Legion and Robert E. Glidden Post #758 Veterans of Foreign Wars formed an Honor Guard as the casket and National Colors were processed to and from the sanctuary, escorted by American Flag Bearer, John Tichonuk. Attending were delegates from Regal Art Press, Williston Fire Department, Georgia Fire Department, Georgia First Response, Yankee Medical, St. Albans Elks Lodge 1566 BPOE, Roy Waine Auto Repair, Law Office of Tim Hawkins, Leader Evaporator, Immigration and Naturalization and Green Mountain Tours. Immediately following the Mass, a luncheon was hosted by the Ladies of Ascension Parish. Larry’s casket bearers included his son-in-law, Robert Potvin, his grandson, Paul Ashline, nephews, Keith Baker, Steven Coons and Kenneth Paul Coons and family friend, Marc Gadouas. Spring interment will be in the Georgia Plains Cemetery. During the visitation, Rev. Mr. Duane Langlois, Deacon at Holy Angels Parish conducted a prayer service at the Heald Funeral Home.
