Isle La Motte – Our mother, Kathryn Babits passed to her heavenly home, Friday, February 25th, 2022. She was 88 years old.
Kathryn was born on October 7th, 1933, to parents; Ruth Noonan Fleming and Pierce Fleming of Pittsford, Vermont.
Mom devoted her life to her 3 children; Colleen, Kenneth and David Babits. As the good Irish Catholic that she was she worked hard to provide her children with everything she could.
Mom worked at IBM in Essex Junction, retiring after 22 years of service and moved to St. Albans to be with her daughter and son. Among the many activities of retired life, mom spent many hours with her grandchildren who she loved deeply. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Angels Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, past member of the board of directors of Martha’s Kitchen, past Secretary of the Board of Incorporators at Northwestern Medical Center, as well as a volunteer for the Northwestern Medical Center. She was a proud member of the Georgia School Lunch team.
Mom enjoyed her friends and had many adventures going to church, eating food, NASCAR and playing cards were among her favorite things to do.
Mom was pre-deceased by both her parents, her grandson; Christopher Laframboise, her brother; Terrance and her step-mother; Beatrice Fleming.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter; Colleen Edson and her partner; Roland Webb and her son; Dan Edson, her sons; Kenneth and his wife; Deborah, her son; David and his partner; Julie Fitzpatrick, as well as her grandchildren; Daniel, Tori, Jeffrey, Sarah, Michael, John and her great grandchildren; Chris and Kaydence Marie, and her extended family; Pat and Gary Francis and family and 2 special women; Bonnie Rocheleau and Janet Babits and all her friends.
A special thank you to the staff of Bayada Hospice for the care and support to Kathryn and her family.
Respecting Kathryn’s wishes there will be no services.
Her family asks that memorials be made to Martha’s Kitchen, 139 Lake Street, St. Albans, Vermont 05478.
