Fairfield Judy Ann (Larsen) Garceau a lifelong area resident passed away early Saturday, December 26, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 17, 1956, in St. Albans, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Iversen) Larsen. Judy was 59 years old.
Judy was a 1974 graduate of Bellows Free Academy. On January 29, 1982 she was married to Roland Bugsy Garceau. She was a devoted wife and beloved mother. Judy enjoyed spending quality time with her husband, whether accompanying him at work, ice-fishing, in the garden, at the pond, on a quiet drive or sharing summer evenings on the porch. Judy held a special place in her heart for her sister-in-laws and close friends. She looked forward to daily phone conversations, visits and shopping trips with these ladies. Judy enjoyed bird watching and her flowers, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She took much pride in them and relished in the time she had with them.
Judys strength resounded throughout her life and she remained stoic in her final moments.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Roland Garceau of Fairfield; their children, Amanda Toof and her husband, Jake, of Swanton, Delisca Christian and her husband, Brian, of St. Albans, Courtney Bushey and her husband, Jason, of Swanton and Gaston Gus Garceau of Sheldon, as well as her grandchildren, Hardy, Henrik and Holden Toof, Kameryn and Raymond Christian, Taylor and Brett Bushey.
Judy is also survived by her sisters, Bea Bevins and her husband, David, of Burnt Hills, NY and Kathy Buck and her husband, Walter, of St. Albans; her brother, Allan Larsen of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister-in-law, Susan Christie of Columbus, OH; brother and sister-in-laws, Henry and Marlene Garceau of St. Albans, Rene and Betty Garceau of Fairfield, Pauline Austin of St. Albans, Lou-Ann and Roger Reed of Sheldon, Greg Garceau and fiance Julie West of St. Albans, several nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Thor Larsen; her father and mother-in-law Gaston and Theresa (Gratton) Garceau; and brother-in-law, Ralph Austin.
At her request, there will be no services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
