Obituary for Joseph L. Aucoin

Williston/St. Albans – Joseph A. Aucoin, 72, a resident of Williston for the past six years and former resident of Enosburg passed away unexpectedly at his home early Wednesday, September 15, 2009. Born on December 6, 1936, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Joseph was the son of the late Arthur and Rose (Choinere) Aucoin. On December 24, 1955, in Swanton, Vermont he married Beverly Berger, who survives him. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for twenty years. Joseph retired from I.B.M. as a manager following fifteen years of service. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, fishing, traveling, especially to Yucca Valley California. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Beverly of Williston; their two daughters, Kimberly Hubbard and her husband, Larry, of Waterville, and Kristy Cardamone and her husband, James of Yucca Valley California; his grandchildren, Tiffany Pezzimenti and her husband, Tony, Halie Gates and her husband, David, Madison Cardamone, Matthew and Emily Aucoin and Adam and Ashley Hubbard. Joseph is also survived by his great grandchildren, Nya Aucoin, Noel Gates, Ivy Gates and Charlotte Gates; his two sisters, Yvette Gagnon of Scranton, Pennsylvania and Pearl Desplaines of Riverside, California; his brother, Pierre Aucoin and his wife, Rita, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joan and Burr Russell, Kay Siewert, Nancy and Jim Bowlby, Marlene and Henry Garceau and Rodney and Joyce Berger and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Mark Aucoin, granddaughter, Sara Aucoin, sisters, Evelyn Robitaille, Lillian Godin and brothers, Robert and Arthur Aucoin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake Street in St. Albans with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow at the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
