Obituary for Jonathan S. Parrish

So Burlington – Jonathan S. Parrish, 37, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday June 7, 2011, at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He was born on July 25, 1973, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jonathan attended the South Burlington Schools where he excelled at endurance sports: track, cross country running, and skiing. He swam for the Burlington Tennis Club, ran many 10 K races and 1/2 marathons and was an outstanding bi-athlete and tri-athlete during his high school years. He attended the University of Vermont where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. While in Miami Jonathan was employed by Cobb Theaters as a technician. Most recently he travelled to the Cobb Theaters nationwide installing the latest in digital projectors which make the movies we all watch more exciting. Jonathan will be remembered by his family and friends as an avid reader of mysteries, with a particular passion for novels by Stephen King and Tom Clancy. He never lost his childhood enthusiasm for Legos and would often stay up more than 24 hours to complete the most difficult “Starwars” models. Jon was also a devoted fan of anything and everything “Batman”. Survivors include his mother, Sally (Stech) Parrish of South Burlington; his brothers, David Parrish of Newport, Rhode Island and Brandon Parrish and his wife, Katie, and their two daughters, Emily and Olivia all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his uncle, Jack Stech and his wife, Charlene; his aunt, Sue Connor and her husband, Bill, and his cousins, Joel and Shawn Stech, Kate Jackson and Jane Blin. A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 16, 2011, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1250 Spear Street, South Burlington. Interment of his ashes will be in the All Saints Memorial Garden immediately following the service. .
