This is just a small story of the life of John Stech. “Jack” as he was called was an amazing man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Papa” as he was called by his grandchildren, was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law.
Jack’s story starts on March 12th, 1943, the oldest child and only son of John and Eleanor Stech. Jack was born in St. Albans, VT, this was where he was raised and in high school met the love of his life, Charlene L’Esperance. Jack and Charlene high school sweethearts that married on October 12th, 1963 and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.
Together in 1966 Jack and Charlene welcomed twin boys. Jack then went to work on building his family a home in Georgia, Vermont, this is where they raised their family and live in to this day. The past 8 years Jack and Charlene wintered in their home in Largo, Florida. Jack loved it down there and loved nothing more than calling all his family members to let them know what the temperature is in Largo compared to our frigid Vermont Temps… We will miss our daily weather updates. We will also miss him standing with grannie at the picture window in your living room, waving good bye to us as we were leaving your home.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Jack were his parents, John and Eleanor Stech, in-laws, Louis and Marion L’Esperance and a beloved nephew, Johnathan Parrish.
Loved ones that will miss him until they meet again are his beloved wife, Charlene (L’Esperance) Stech; his sons, and their wives, Shawn and Cathy Stech and Joel and Linda Stech; his grandchildren, , his second favorite girl, Ellie Stech, Joshua Stech, Ramze Stech and Hayden Stech, as well as his sisters, Sally Parrish, Sue and Bill O’Connor; sisters-in-law, Louise and David Chase, Gloria and Bob Spellman; brothers-in-law, Bill and Norma L’Esperance, Charles L’Esperance and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Jack’s wishes there will be no public calling hours or services.
Anyone wishing to honor Jack’s memory may do so by donating in his name to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
