John “Jack†Gavin Mulvey, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on March 4th 2010, in Longford, Ireland. He was born April 27, 1943, in Concord NH, the son of the late John Stephen Mulvey and Barbara North Mulvey. Jack was raised in Acton, MA and was a resident of VT for much of his life. He moved to VT in the 1971 and lived in Fairfield, St. Albans and Georgia. Jack always dreamed of living in Ireland and moved there in the summer of 2006. Jack was a junior high teacher at Missisquoi Valley Union as well as Fairfield Elementary. Jack enriched many kids’ lives during this time and kids enjoyed his class because of his unique teaching style as well as sense of humor. Jack had many different hobbies which included: reading, music, baseball, gardening, politics and many others. Jack was a member of the Georgia school board, ran for the House of Representatives in Georgia, VT, and ran for local office in Ireland under Sein Fein. Jack is survived by his two sons and their wives, Gavin Mulvey and Leah Mulvey of Burlington, VT, Brendan Mulvey and Sindy Mulvey of Boston, MA; his grandson, Holden Mulvey of Burlington; his brothers, Robert Mulvey and Melanie Kosich of Wayland, MA, Richard Mulvey of Monterey, CA; his sister, Judith Bemis and Casper Bemis of Marlborough, NH; his brother-in-law Michael Cormier of Naples, FL. Jack was predeceased by his younger sister, Sheila Mulvey of Naples, FL. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date in the summer of 2010 in St. Albans.
