Obituary for Jeannette O. Pare

Jeannette O. “Jan” Pare Swanton, Vermont/New Port Richey, Florida - Jeannette O. Pare, 83, a lifelong resident of this area passed away early Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the New Port Richey Community Hospital with her loving family at her side, following a brief illness. She was born in Swanton, Vermont on March 27, 1924, the daughter of the late Fay R. and Glenna (Raymond) Ovitt and her step-mother, Aldelena R. Ovitt. On April 12, 1948, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she married R. Ernest “Peg” Pare, who survives her. Jan attended St. Mary’s High School in St. Albans and graduated from Hartford High School and Hartford Business College both in Connecticut. She was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Albans and belonged to the Heritage Lake Shuffleboard, Cribbage, and Women’s Club. Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Ernest of Swanton and New Port Richey, their daughter, Carol McKinney and son-in-law, Michael McKinney of St. Albans, two grandsons, Scott McKinney of Boston, Massachusetts and Brian McKinney and his wife, Kerrin of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, two great-grandsons, Aidan Pare McKinney and Colin Patrick McKinney, her sister, Joan Ducolon and her husband, Ronald of Swanton, a special aunt, Barbara Whitehill of Broomfield, Colorado, two sisters-in-law, Cecile Ferland and Jane Magnant both of St. Albans, brothers-in-law, Fred Pare, of Claremont, New Hampshire, Romeo Pare and his wife, Josephine, of The Villages, Florida, Raymond Pare and his wife, Pauline, of Swanton, Joseph Pare and his wife, Carol, of Rocky River, Ohio, many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous dear friends in Vermont and in Heritage Lake, New Port Richey, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Fairfield Street, St. Albans. The Reverend W. Andre Houle will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Pare family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, memorial’s may be made to the Jim Bashaw Fund, c/o Northwestern Medical Center, P.O.
