St. Albans, VT/Toledo, OH - Jeanne M. Williams, age 96, a resident of St. Albans, VT since 2006, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the Franklin County Rehab Center. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 22, 1916, the daughter of the late John Ira and Bernice (Rupp) Marleau. She married Harry E. Williams on Oct 2, 1937, who preceded her in death November 24, 1981. Following graduation from Scott High School, she worked as a switchboard operator for Rupp and Bowman Pharmacy. After 15 years, in 1981 she retired form J.C. Penny Co. Jeanne & her husband Harry spent many happy summers boating on Lake Erie at Put-In-Bay, Toledo Yacht Club, North Cape Yacht Club, and at Devil’s Lake Yacht Club in Michigan. Jeanne was a life time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and active in Martha’s Circle. She also belonged to CCL (Child Conservation League). Jeanne was well loved and cared for as a resident of Franklin County Rehab Center, and her family will be forever grateful to the wonderful people who cared for her. Survivors include her son, Harry Q. Williams and his wife, Sue of Mansfield, Texas; her daughter, Judy Holzscheiter and her husband, Ken of Swanton, Vermont; four grandchildren, John Holzscheiter and his former wife, Andrea; Jacob Holzscheiter and his wife, Laura; Jason Q. Williams, Lauryn Williams; three great grandchildren, Helen, Katie and Alfred “A.J.†Holzscheiter and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Phillips and Margaret Snell. There will be no calling hours in St. Albans. A memorial service will be held in Toledo at the convenience of the family, most likely late spring or early summer. Jeanne will be buried next to her husband in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
