Obituary for Janet Mae Booker

Essex Jct/Georgia – Janet Mae Booker, 67, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, with her family at her side. She was born in St. Albans on September 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Robert R. and Geraldine A. (Dashno) Adams. Janet was employed for many years at I.B.M. retiring as manufacturing supervisor. She was a member of Georgia United Methodist Church, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family. She was the widow of Kenneth R. Booker, Sr. who predeceased her May 8, 2004. Survivors include her children Kenneth R. Booker, Jr. and his wife, Shelly, of Essex Jct, Todd M. Booker, Sr. and his wife, Trudy, of Highgate, Tammy L. Leary and her husband, Pete, of Swanton, Crystal G. Solomon and her husband, David, of St. Albans, and Scott D. Booker and his wife, Melissa, of St. Albans. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, her brother, Robert Adams and his wife, Diane, of Highgate, a special friend, Lucy “Peanut” Royce of St. Albans, 3 step- sisters, 1 step-brother and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 So. Main Street St. Albans with visitation from 12:00 to the time of the services. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Georgia Plain Cemetery.
