Obituary for James H. Murray

St. Albans VT-/Kingston, PA - James H. Murray, 64, of St. Albans, Vermont, formerly of Kingston, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 24, 1946, he was the son of the late James and Betty Tippett Murray. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Wilkes College and the University of Scranton. Prior to his retirement in Vermont, he employed as a Certified Rehabilitation Specialist for United Rehabilitation Associates for more than twenty years. Jim was a dedicated Boy Scout member for most of his life attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of fourteen. He was an active coach for the Kingston Little League program for many years and was passionate about gardening, flowers, farming and life as a resident of Vermont. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Ethel Davies Tippett, Agnes Murray and grandson, Connor Rogan Plank. He is survived by a daughter, Lesley Murray Plank and her husband Lee, of Dallas, a son, Tim Murray and his wife Shana, of Bahrain, four grandchildren, Jacob and Evan Plank, Ethan and Faith Murray, sister, Donna Zaborny and brother-in-law Gary, nephews, Chris and Brandon Zaborny, aunt, Dorothy Tippett, several cousins, special friend Tricia Kipp and his beloved dog, Roz. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Dorranceton Methodist Church, 549 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions if so desired may be made to the Dorranceton Methodist Church 549 Wyoming Ave. Kingston, PA 18704.
