Obituary for Henry L. Lamothe

St. Albans – Henry L. Lamothe, 85, a lifelong resident of this area passed away on Thursday morning, October 23, 2008 at his home on the Bronson Road with his loving family at his side. Born in Georgia, Vermont on June 9, 1923, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Clara (Rock) Lamothe. On October 18, 1943, in East Fairfield, Vermont, Henry married the love of his life, Rose Gendron, who survives him. They celebrated their 65th Anniversary last Saturday. Henry was employed with the George Gaines International as General Mechanic. After retirement, he started his own business called “Pep’s Pallets”. Survivors include his wife, Rose, of St. Albans; their five children; Marcel Lamothe and his wife, Doris of St. Albans; Lillian DeCell and her husband, George of St. Albans; Gloria Blessington of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Donald Lamothe of St. Albans and Claire Ordway and her husband, Denis of Henderson, Nevada; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his sister, Rita Perron of St. Albans and his brother, Paul Lamothe and wife, Rita of St. Albans, sisters-in-law; Theresa Lamothe of St. Albans and Marie Lamothe of Highgate, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his six brothers, Leo, Robert, Jean, Fred, Andrew, Clement, and a sister Gertrude Brodeur Gregoire. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law Donia Lamothe, his great grandson, Jordan Laroche and his son-in-law, Terrance Blessington, Jr. Henry’s family wishes to thank Franklin County Home Health Agency and St. Albans Health Care for the loving care he received during his illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Lake St., with the Reverend Maurice J. Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Lamothe family lot in the St. Albans Bay Cemetery. Henry’s family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
