St. Albans – Hazel Mae Wright a lifelong area resident passed away on Sunday, February 01, 2015, at the Homestead, with her loving family at her side. Born in St. Albans on November 10, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Ida M. (Hojaboom) Powers. Hazel was 97 years old. Hazel was a longtime member and past president of the St. Albans Town Home Dem Group, as well as a member of the Franklin County Senior Center and the What-So-Ever Circle of the Kling’s Daughters. Survivors include her sons, David Vincelette and his wife, Virginia, of California; Alan Vincelette, Sr. and his wife, Mary Lou, of St. Albans and Steven Wright and his wife, Carol, of California; her daughter, Rae Mancil and her husband, Reginald, of Alabama; her grandchildren, Christy and Scott Dion, Trish and Carlton Elliott, Dawn and Scott Coolbeth, Alan and Christine Vincelette, Jr., David and Mary Lou Vincelette, Jr., Jenny and Steven Araju, Brenda Vincelette, Rhonda Nelson, Rebecca Coy Whitehead, Michael Kabat, David Kabat and partner, Melinda Peters and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Charles Howard Vincelette and Ronald Douglas Wright; grandson, Scott Kabat; brothers, James and Walter Powers and sisters, Marian Callan, Ruth Dutcher and Irene Post. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 6, 2015, from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Heald Chapel with Reverend William Simmons, Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place later this spring in the family lot in Highgate Center Cemetery. Messages of condolence to Hazel’s family are welcome at www.healdfuneralhome.com
