?Harriet "Susie" Soule Armstrong Georgia - - Mrs. Harriet "Susie" Soule Armstrong, 88, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2006, at Northwestern Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Sheldon on October 5, 1917, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Teresa (Riley) Soule. She was the widow of Emmet L."Jim" Armstrong who died on November 4, 1997. Susie was a 1939 graduate of the St. Albans Hospital School of Nursing, the hospital where she was employed for 41 years as a registered nurse, retiring in 1980 as operating room nurse supervisor. She was an avid bridge player, a member of the Autonoe Club and the Tuesday and Wednesday morning Bridge Clubs. Survivors include her two daughters; Patricia Gray and her husband Quentin of St. Albans, and Pamela Posada and her special friend Gerald Miles of Selah, Washington, a son-in-law, Raymond L'Esperance of St. Albans, a brother; Arthur Soule of Montgomery Center, eight grandchildren; Leslie Rushlow, Julie McDonald, Phillip Posada, Susan Posada, Michael Posada, Carl L'Esperance, Kimberly Gray, and Kathleen Sparrow, twelve great-grandchildren, three very close friends; “Bea” Butler, Marion Walsh, and Leona “Noni” Samson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Emmet, she was predeceased by a daughter; Melanie "Jo" L'Esperance on November 21 2003, two sisters; Laura Crane and Ruth Benoit, three brothers; Horace "Hoddie" Soule, Andrew "Andy" Soule and Max "Mickey" Soule. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Franklin County Rehab Center and the ICU nurses at Northwestern Medical Center for their kind and considerate care while Susie was a patient, and a special thanks to Dr. Frank Zsoldos and Judy for their care and special attention. Also, to a special friend, Lynda Ryan for all her assistance during Susie’s illness. In accordance with Susie's wishes, funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to the Sheldon Public Library, 1640 Main Street, Sheldon, VT 05483 or to a charity of one’s choice.
