Obituary for Harlan G. Bushey

Harlan G. Bushey Fairfield - Harlan G. Bushey, 53, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his loving family at his side. He was born in St. Albans, Vermont on July 28, 1954, the son of the late Raymond J. and Mary (St.. Andrews) Bushey, Sr. On May 17, 1975, in Fairfax, Harlan married the former Irene Deschamps, who survives him. Harlan was employed by the Howrigan family farms in West Enosburg until his illness forced him to stop working. He enjoyed playing cards, watching John Wayne movies and working on cars with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Irene of Fairfield, their two children, Scott Bushey of Saranac Lake, New York and Kimberly Bushey of Fairfield, his granddaughter, Ashley Marie Bushey of Fairfield, his brothers, Leon Bushey and his wife, Polly of Fairfield, Roger Bushey and his wife, Susie of Enosburg, Harvey Bushey and his wife, Carolyn of Franklin, his two sisters, Nancy Dash and her husband, George of Arkansas, and Donna Bushey of Fairfield, his in-laws, Robert and Joanne Deschamps of Fairfax, his brothers and sisters in-law, David and Cindy Deschamps of Alaska, Carol and Waldo Ward of Maine, Robert Deschamps, Jr., of North Carolina, Pauline Gaboury of Fairfax, Robin Wright of New York, Gary Deschamps of Fairfax and Diane Deschamps and her companion, Kenneth Couture of Westford, many nieces and nephews and close family friends, John and Jodee Bryce of Swanton. Harlan was preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Bushey, Sr. on October 16, 1980, his mother, Mary (St. Andrews) Bushey on January 10, 1983, and his brother, Raymond J. Bushey, Jr. on December 13, 1990. A funeral service will be held on Thursday January 3, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans with the Reverend Leonidas B. Laroche, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Fairfield officiating. Interment will be next spring in the Bushey family lot in Egypt Cemetery in East Fairfield. Harlan’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
