Gordon Fairbanks Gilmore St. Albans/Juno Beach, FL - Gordon Fairbanks Gilmore passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007, in Palm Beach, Florida. He was born in St. Albans on September 13, 1902, the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Foster) Gilmore. Gordon was born in the house that still stands at 92 Fairfield Street. It was a home of four generations; the home being built in 1855 by Levi Webster, his great grandfather. He attended schools in St. Albans, playing piano in a dance band on weekends and playing the organ at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. After completing his education in St. Albans, he left and lived most of his life in West Hartford. Connecticut, where he was associated with several different companies serving as treasurer; later being Trifari Jewelry. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Violet moved to Vero Beach, Florida and finally Juno Beach, Florida where he passed away. His wife, passed away on April 13, 2004. Survivors include his daughter, Gail Vining of Miami, Florida, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held next spring at the family lot on Greenwood Cemetery in St. Albans. Assisting Gordon’s family is the Heald Funeral Home of St. Albans.
