Obituary for Geraldine A. "Gerry" Adams

St. Albans - Geraldine A. “Gerry” Adams, 86, a longtime area resident passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Northwestern Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born on July 12, 1924, in Franklin, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Burt and Flora (Austin) Dashno. Gerry was a member of the Georgia United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where she was very active. She retired from the former Union Carbide Corporation after 30 plus years of service and then worked at several area restaurants. Gerry was a former volunteer for Martha’s Kitchen. Survivors include her children, Robert “Bob” Adams and his wife, Diane of Highgate Springs and Janet Booker of Essex Junction; her grandchildren and their spouses, Rob, Roy & Melody, Randy & Tracee, Rick, Chantell & Dave, Karen & Joe, Troy & Melissa, Rene & David, Joe, Kenneth & Shelly, Todd & Trudy, Tammy & Pete, Chrystal & Dave, and Scott & Melissa; 44 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by close friends, Andrew Vanacore and Marchia Leete. In addition to her parents; Gerry was preceded in death by her brother, JR Dashno and her sister, Irene Dashno. Gerry’s family will receive friends on Monday, July 19th from 6 to 8 P.M. in the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So Main St., St. Albans. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Georgia United Methodist Church in Georgia Center. Interment will be in the Dashno family lot in the Sheldon Village Cemetery on Tuesday at 3:00 P.M.
