Sheldon Springs – Francis G. Beaulieu a longtime area resident passed away early Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Northwestern Medical Center with his family at his side. Born in Anson, Maine on September 9, 1933, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Josephine (Coro) Beaulieu. Francis was 79 years old. On May 5, 1956, in Madison, Maine he married Rose-Marie Marcue, who survives him. Francis graduated from high school and graduated from University of Maine and enlisted in the United States Army serving as a cook during the Korean War. He then moved to Sheldon and served as an engineer at the former Sheldon Pulp Mill and later with Boise Cascade. He was a life member of Robert E. Glidden Post # 758, Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of Sheldon Post # 88, American Legion, and a former member of the Enosburg Sportsman Club and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed being outdoors especially hunting, fishing and during the spring of the year, his maple sugaring operation at his wood lot in Montgomery. He also enjoyed a good game of cribbage. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Rose-Marie of St. Albans; their children, Tarnya Jacobs and her husband, Dan, of Fairfield and Ardelle Bessette and her husband, Michael, of Sheldon Springs and his grandchildren, Rocky and Joshua Martin, Travis Minckler, Courtney and Shannon Bessette and Nicholas Jacobs. Francis is also survived by his siblings, Blanche Elias, Bertha St. Peter and her husband, Edward, Earl Beaulieu and his companion, Maryse, Pearl Cook and her husband, Richard, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Francis Beaulieu August 30, 1995; his brother, Leo Beaulieu; sister, Lillian Coumo; nephew, Brett Beaulieu and mother-in-law, Rosa Marcue. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Francis’ family with interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Sheldon Springs. His family asks that memorial contributions in his name be made to the Vermont Cancer Society, 55 Day Lane, Williston, Vermont 05495.
